The Ministry of Culture collaborates with Art of Living to work for mental health

New Delhi: The Ministry of Culture announced the collaboration with Art of Living to reach the masses and young people to educate them about mental health and empower them to meditate for better health.

“The project was launched on Wednesday, October 26, 20222 at the Art of Living International Headquarters in Bangalore by Ravishankar in the presence of Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai amidst a gathering of 20,000 people,” the ministry said. of Culture in a press release. Release.

The project will engage teachers of the art of living as meditation coaches, and representatives of institutions and interested people from the public as meditation ambassadors, who together will reach the masses, especially young people.

“This program puts the Jan-Bhagidari model into action to empower young people to be healthier and create a more resilient future for the country. The project will be implemented in several phases. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and will culminate on Independence Day 2023,” the ministry added.

The Art of Living Foundation is a voluntary, humanitarian and educational non-governmental organization (NGO). It was founded in 1981 by Ravi Shankar. The Art of Living Foundation has centers in 180 countries. Art of Living offers several stress relief and personal development programs based on breathing techniques, meditation and yoga.

The stress elimination and personal development programs are based on the Sudarshan Kriya breathing technique, meditation and yoga. This technique occupies a preponderant place in Art of Living courses.
