Scout leader asks for ministry support – FBC News

President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has called on the Ministry of Education to support the Fiji Boy Scouts Association.

Following his appointment as Chief Scout this morning, Ratu Wiliame said it will help students become good citizens in the future.

The Association aims to develop Scouts to become self-sufficient, and Ratu Wiliame calls on the Ministry of Education to intervene.

“I ask the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports to support and ensure the promotion of the scout movement in schools and within our communities.”

Ratu Wiliame says the programs provided by the Scouts will also train students to become patriots and enhance their spiritual, mental and physical development.

The Fiji Scouts Association was founded in 1914 and became a member of the World Scout Movement in 1971.
