Director AP & FWD Kashmir Inaugurates Sprinkler / Drip Irrigation System at Budgam – India Education | Latest Education News | Global education news
BUDGAM: Kashmir Agricultural Production and Farmer Welfare (AP & FWD) Director Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today inaugurated a sprinkler / drip irrigation system in Dadina, Budgam, commissioned under the Capex 2021-22 program.
On this occasion, the director declared that all efforts are being made to promote an integrated model of agriculture and, as such, today’s field visit by Gh Mustafa is a step towards this effort. He further added that the field at Dadina Budgam was an abandoned brick kiln that was salvaged under the National Climate Change Adaptation Program (NAFCC).
While interacting with progressive farmers in the village, he highlighted various important features of the drip / sprinkler irrigation system. He said that drip irrigation system is a type of micro-irrigation system that has the potential to save water and nutrients. He also said that drip irrigation focuses on improving the efficiency of water use at the farm level.
Later, the director had a detailed meeting with the representatives of the LULU group. He said the department is constantly exploring new market opportunities to increase the value of farmers ‘and producers’ products.
The director was accompanied by the head of agriculture Budgam, the deputy head of soil conservation Budgam and other senior district officials and field officials.
