Country in mission mode to transform education and health sector, says PM Modi as he inaugurates state-of-the-art Amrita Hospital in Faridabad

In a major boost to healthcare infrastructure for the National Capital Region (NCR), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the state-of-the-art 2,600-bed private hospital Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a fully automated centralized laboratory.

Amrita Hospital, built on a sprawling 130-acre campus with sustainability in mind, has a dedicated seven-storey research block and was built over a six-year period under the auspices of Mata Amritanandamayi Math.

The new super-specialty hospital opened initially with 500 beds and is expected to be fully operational gradually over the next five years. Once fully operational, the hospital with 81 specialties is considered the largest private hospital in Delhi-NCR and the country, its officials had said.

Speaking at the launch of the hospital, Prime Minister Modi said “India is a country where healing is service, health is charity.”

“Where health and spirituality are intertwined. We have a Medicine Veda. We have also given the name of Ayurveda to our medical science,” PM

This system of offloading education and medical responsibilities from our religious and social institutions is sort of the “PPP model” – Public-Private Partnership – of yore, Prime Minister Modi said, adding that the country is today on a “mission”. way of transforming its education and medical sectors.

Prime Minister Modi also congratulated Mata Amritanandamayi during the inauguration. The hospital is run by Mata Amritanandamayi Math.

“Amma is an embodiment of love and sacrifice. She is an inspiration to all,” Prime Minister Modi said.

The hospital buildings span 36 lakh square feet in built-up area, with a 14-storey tower housing key medical facilities. There is also a rooftop helipad. The new mega hospital in Sector 88 of Faridabad near the Delhi-Mathura road has a built-up area of ​​one crore square feet and the campus will also have a medical faculty. A dedicated seven-story research block and eight Centers of Excellence, including gastrosciences, kidney sciences, bone disease and trauma, transplants, and mother-child care, are located on campus.

The hospital has patient-centric wards and OPDs and a fully automated high-tech centralized laboratory.
